On December 14 and 15, 2021, DDOT hosted a virtual public meeting to present final design elements of the Benning Road Bridges and Transportation Improvements Project and discuss the plan and timeline for construction.

FINAL DESIGN PHASE
The ongoing Benning Road Bridges and Transportation Improvements Project has entered the final design phase to continue the development of transportation improvements along approximately 2 miles of the Benning Road corridor in Northeast DC, from Oklahoma Avenue NE to East Capitol Street.

RELEASE OF FINAL EA AND FONSI
In November 2021, DDOT – in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration, and in cooperation with the Federal Transit Administration, National Capital Planning Commission, and National Park Service – released the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Benning Road and Bridges Transportation Improvements Project.
